Wirewound Resistors (RC) are the most basic structures of wire-wound and band resistors mostly used as braking resistors, power resistors and load resistors with powers ranging from 50W to 15 kW. They are intended mainly for indoor applications.
Design
The RC resistors consist of a ceramic roller wound on a wire or resistance band, depending on the load. The whole unit is covered by a special clay compound resistant to high temperatures. An advantage of the compound used by SIMPAX is that it does not emit smoke during the first use..
